Sunday School (9:00 am – 10:00 am)

Our Sunday school program offers age appropriate Christian education for kids ages 3 years old through 6th grade.  The curriculum we use (Spark) focuses on many different Bible stories throughout the year.

Confirmation (Wednesdays 6:20 pm – 8:00 pm)

Our confirmation program is a two and a half year program for youth in 7th through 9th grade. Confirmation is held on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year.  The first two years of Confirmation focus on the Old and New Testament and Luther’s Small Catechism and Lutheran Living.  The third year allows confirmation students opportunities to explore and live out their faith through various hands on learning experiences.  Our confirmation students are confirmed in January during their 9th grade year.

Wednesdays Evening Schedule:

6:20-6:40 – dinner served by confirmation families

6:45-7:05- Large Group Learning

7:10-7:40 – Small Group Learning

7:45-8:00 – Large Group Closing – singing and communion

All confirmation families are expected to attend the Lenten worship services on Wednesday nights!  There will be a soup supper before worship (expect on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday & Good Friday)  Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm and worship will follow at 6:30 pm. This year’s schedule is as follows: February 10th – Emmanuel; February 17 – Bethlehem; February 24 – United; March 2 – Emmanuel; March 9 – Bethlehem; March 16 – Emmanuel; March 24 (Maundy Thursday) – United; March 25 (Good Friday) – 1:30 pm Knife River or 7:00 pm Knife River


Youth Group (Wednesdays 6:20 pm -6:45 pm)

Our high school students are invited to join us for youth group on Wednesday evenings from 6:20 pm – 6:45 pm.  We use this time to check in with one another and plan for future activities.  Information about Youth Group activities can be found on the church calendar on our website or on our Facebook group.

EcoFaith Youth Camp – For youth entering grades 10-12

 

EcofaithAre you interested in exploring the intersection between environmental, economic, and racial justice in a faith context? The NE MN Synod, in partnership with the NE MN Synod Creation Care Task Force and Peace United Church of Christ, would like to invite you to be part of a new opportunity this summer – The EcoFaith Youth Camp. This week long day camp will begin on Sunday, June 26 and will end on Thursday, June 30. Our week will be spent exploring our role as God’s people and understanding our call to care for all of God’s creation and people. Throughout the week we will be in conversations with local indigenous communities and local farmers, learn the history and story of the St. Louis River, and explore the complexities of our food systems. Our week will also involve one night of camping, a morning of canoeing, and time to learn, play, and grow together!

“Act Local” – July 18-22, 2016 – For youth entering grades 9-12

You don’t need to travel very far to change the world.  You can make a big difference right here, right now.  What did Jesus do to serve those in need?  And what can I do?  It’s time to put our faith in action!

Our week will be spent with other local Duluth churches serving our communities and having fun together!

Tentative schedule:

Monday Evening: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Group building and fun activities, dinner, opening Bible study, evening worship

Tuesday & Wednesday: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm – Service projects in the community, dinner, fun “tourist” activities, evening worship

Thursday through Friday Morning: 10:00 am – 9:00 am- Service projects, dinner, fun “tourist” activities, lock-in/sleepover, breakfast and goodbyes

Registration forms are available through Jillian.  You must register my June 1st.  The cost of “Act Local” is $75 per participant.  Scholarships money is available!
